Draft — have a lawyer review before launch. This covers the standard ground for a medicine-delivery marketplace in India, but it isn't a substitute for legal advice specific to your business, your pharmacy partner agreements, or applicable e-pharmacy regulation. Update the bracketed placeholders (company name, address, contact details) before publishing.

Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Medarent website and app ("Medarent", "we", "us"), operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. By creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Medarent is
Medarent is a marketplace that connects you with independent, licensed pharmacies ("Pharmacy Partners") in your area for the delivery of medicines and healthcare products. Medarent does not itself manufacture, stock, or dispense medicines — each order is fulfilled by the Pharmacy Partner you select, who is responsible for the accuracy, quality, and legality of the products they supply.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and place orders.
- You must provide accurate name, contact, and delivery information.
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
3. Prescription medicines
- Medicines marked as prescription-required can only be dispensed against a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner.
- You must upload a clear, genuine, and current prescription. A licensed pharmacist reviews and approves prescription orders before dispatch — Medarent does not auto-approve these.
- Submitting a false, altered, or expired prescription may result in order cancellation and account suspension.
4. Orders, pricing & delivery
- Prices, discounts, and stock availability are set by the Pharmacy Partner and may change without notice.
- Delivery times shown (e.g. "10 minutes") are estimates, not guarantees, and can be affected by traffic, weather, stock verification, or prescription review.
- We reserve the right to cancel an order if the item becomes unavailable, the delivery address is outside a Pharmacy Partner's serviceable area, or payment cannot be verified.
5. Payments
Payments are processed through our third-party payment partner(s). Medarent does not store your full card details. Cash on Delivery, where offered, is subject to order value limits and Pharmacy Partner discretion.
6. Your responsibilities
- Do not use Medarent for any unlawful purpose, including attempting to obtain controlled or restricted substances without a valid prescription.
- Provide a safe and accurate delivery address; you're responsible for being reachable to receive the order.
- Medicine use is at your own risk and responsibility — always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions, and read the product label.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Medarent is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform, including adverse reactions to medicines, delivery delays, or Pharmacy Partner errors. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the value of the order in question.
8. Account suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, misuse the prescription-upload feature, engage in fraudulent payment activity, or abuse delivery partners or support staff.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts in [CITY], Haryana having exclusive jurisdiction.

Privacy Policy
This explains what personal data Medarent collects, why, and how it's used. Because we handle prescriptions and health-related purchases, we treat this data with extra care.
1. What we collect
- Account data: name, email, phone number, password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication — we never see or store your raw password).
- Order data: delivery address, items ordered, order history, payment status (not full card numbers).
- Prescription images: uploaded only when required for prescription medicines, shared only with the Pharmacy Partner fulfilling that order and the reviewing pharmacist.
- Location data: approximate or precise location, only when you choose to share it, to find nearby pharmacies and estimate delivery time.
- Usage data: pages visited, searches, device/browser type, for improving the app and diagnosing issues.
2. How we use it
- To create and manage your account, and let you log back in.
- To process, deliver, and provide support for your orders.
- To route your prescription to a pharmacist for review.
- To show you nearby, relevant pharmacies and products.
- To send order updates via app notification, SMS, or WhatsApp (only where you've provided that contact method).
- To detect fraud and keep the platform secure.
3. Who we share it with
- Pharmacy Partners fulfilling your specific order — name, delivery address, phone number, items, and prescription (if applicable).
- Payment processors, to complete transactions.
- Delivery personnel, limited to what's needed to complete delivery.
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not share your prescription or health-related purchase history for advertising purposes.
4. Data storage & security
Data is stored with [Firebase / MongoDB Atlas / your hosting providers], using encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls limiting who can view prescription and order data. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.
5. Your choices
- You can view and update your profile details from your account page.
- You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and associated personal data, by contacting [SUPPORT EMAIL] — subject to records we're legally required to retain (e.g. transaction records).
- You can withdraw location permission at any time from your browser/device settings; this may limit some features.
6. Children's privacy
Medarent is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
7. Changes to this policy
We'll update the "Last updated" date above if this policy changes materially, and where required, notify you directly.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
1. Cancelling an order
- Orders can be cancelled free of charge before the Pharmacy Partner marks them as "packed/dispatched."
- Once an order is out for delivery, it generally cannot be cancelled, since it's already been picked, packed, and (for prescription items) pharmacist-approved.
2. Order not deliverable
If a Pharmacy Partner is unable to fulfil your order (item out of stock, address outside delivery range, prescription rejected by the pharmacist), the order will be cancelled and any payment collected online will be refunded in full.
3. Wrong, damaged, or missing items
- Check your order at the time of delivery where possible.
- Report a wrong, damaged, expired, or missing item within [24–48 hours] of delivery via [SUPPORT EMAIL / in-app support / WhatsApp].
- Verified issues are resolved by replacement or refund, at your choice, once the Pharmacy Partner confirms the discrepancy.
4. Medicines specifically
For safety and regulatory reasons, opened, used, or consumed medicines generally cannot be returned or exchanged — refunds for medicines are issued only for cases of wrong item delivered, damaged packaging on arrival, or an expired product, reported promptly with photo evidence where requested.
5. Refund timelines
- Approved refunds to your original online payment method are typically processed within [5–7 business days], depending on your bank/payment provider.
- Cash on Delivery refunds (e.g. for a partially unavailable order) are settled as store credit or bank transfer, at your preference.
